Welcome letter and guide to our new website

We are excited to introduce you to our new website “Everything Conducting,” an inclusive place to learn, share, and advance our craft.

Our goal is to help conductors of all levels and genres find answers to the questions that they will inevitably have as they navigate different parts of their musical journey and conducting career. Access to the Article Collection, as well as the entire website, is completely free. Our mission is to help level the playing field and lower the barrier of entry to becoming a conductor.

While you can access the website without being a member, we are asking visitors to create a login so that we can learn a little more about you. These few questions are intended to help drive content and to allow us to serve the community better. When you become a member, you will receive a periodic newsletter highlighting new content, be able to create a profile on our Members page, gain the ability of follow particular article contributors, and further connect to our community.

We are also the home of “UpBeat,” our podcast hosted by John Devlin and Enrico Lopez-Yañez. UpBeat is a podcast by conductors, for conductors that puts an “upbeat” spin on a range of topics and presents interviews with guests from all areas of the classical-music industry.

Our External Resources page is a non-exhaustive list of additional (mostly) online resources that may come in handy throughout your professional career.

We do realize that we set the bar high by naming this site Everything Conducting and we will continue to work to earn that moniker over time. New content will appear weekly, written by a growing list of contributors. As we expand, we will provide articles to help all genres of conductors, at different points in their careers, and who are working with groups of varying levels.

Thank you for visiting and we hope you will take us along on your journey!

From all of us,

John, Anna, Enrico, and Ankush
